This home makeover had all the potential to be the perfect getaway for the client who loved the location, but needed to add some interest to the plain walls and concrete floors. We stepped in to do our magic to create this fun little lock and leave retreat.
Starting with the kitchen as the center of the home. We wrapped the face of the island in a fluted wood detail and painted it matte black. This created a modernized finished look that tied in the surrounding black details and contrasted perfectly with the light wood. We added a touch of elegance that meets modern with our pendant lights over the island and added a wine rack (of course) to compliment the surrounding accessories from our Safari Collection.
This room originally was a dining space and became a lounge space. The light grey chevron accent wall greets you as you enter the front door and The navy velvet swivel chairs with their bold color invite you for a drink, or two. We balanced the space with a light, airy feel by incorporating grass textures and modern white furniture. The Mid-century accents set the scene for entertaining guests with classic champagne, cocktails and Gin Rickeys.
To liven up this blank canvas, we started by adding a white honeycomb trim detail on the tv wall to give a soft dimension to the space. Touches of black accents brought in through artwork, coffee table and media console provided a cohesiveness that is carried throughout the home. Warm cognac leather accents add richness to the room next to our favorite cozy sectional. Its neutral performance fabric and casual throw pillows make for the perfect spot to relax with friends. Put your feet up, stay a while!
Soft and serene was the goal for this bedroom. The neutral linen drapery in this room was added on a ceiling mounted track system to give the illusion of a taller room. The organic feeling of the grasscloth wallcovering paired with the neutral linens creates a dreamy space where you can hang your hat for a nap.
